Two More Students Enter Subtraction World!

Two more students worked hard and finished all of their addition facts! Due to their hard work, they have now moved on to subtraction.  The two students who have closed the door to Addition World and opened the door to Subtraction World are Rana and Naji!  Congratulations to the both of you!  As always…..who will be the next student to enter?  Will it be you?

Geometric Shape Puzzle Champions!

We had a contest in our class that went along with Unit 5 in math!   The students were given 20  shapes (some they recognized and others that were not a specific shape) and a clue.  Here is the clue they were given-The shape has 4 equal sides, 4 angles, and 4 corners.  Students then worked cooperatively with their small group to solve the problem.  The teams that solved the problem by making all 5 squares (I know it sounds easy but it wasn’t!), moved on to the final round where they competed against each other in a race.  The winners are……Israa Khatoun, Nadeen, and MohamadAli!  Congratulations to all three of you!  Great teamwork and problem solving skills!
