Since we had a snow day on Thursday, I have moved the spelling test to Monday. I wasn’t sure if your child would remember that we had a test on Friday, therefore, I decided to move it in order for everyone to be successful on the test. Your child will be taking the WIDA test (not every child but the majority of our class) tomorrow morning (Thursday). This will test how well your child understands English. I was so pleased with the NWEA results, and I know they can do awesome on this test, too! I have no idea what is on this test because it is a formal test and we don’t see it until it arrives. However, I do know it will be based on concepts we have been learning in class. In the past, students have taken it using paper and pencil. This year the reading and listening part will be taken on the computer. Please have a conversation with your child about paying very close attention to what is being said to them because they will not be able to hear it again. I will also talk to them about paying attention. If they are not listening, they will have no idea what to do and I cannot help them at all. Once again, I am asking that your child get a good night sleep and eats a healthy breakfast because as I have said in the past, these two things help students do better in school.
