NWEA Reading Test Tomorrow!

We will be taking the NWEA reading test tomorrow.  Please discuss with your child the importance of taking their time on this test and the importance of using the strategies they have been taught in class to help them be successful!   I know that students who race through the test to get to the end usually do poorly on it.  A matter of fact, in many cases, their score goes down because they are not trying their best.  So please remind your awesome child that no one gets a prize for being done first, therefore, they should just take their time and answer the questions the best that they can!  I know that ALL my Superstars will do fabulous if they really try their best and if they use the strategies that they have been using all year long!  So…..Superstars….try to get your best score ever!  I know you can do it because you ALL rock!!!

Charity Walk Today!

Just a reminder that we will be having the charity walk today!  The weather looks like it will be sunny this afternoon and a great day to walk!  Please have your child wear tennis shoes.  You might want to put sunscreen on your child before they come to school so they don’t burn!  Students will not be allowed to put sunscreen on at school so please make sure you put it on them at home if you want them to wear it.  Looking forward to a great afternoon of walking for charity!

Bonus Question:  First, find the simile in the paragraph.  Next, write it down on the top of your homework.  Then, write down the two things that are being compared.  Finally, explain what the simile means!  There will be a surprise for you if you get it correct:)  Good luck my Superstars!
