This week:
Reading–We are beginning a unit on Informational Reading. We will be looking at the features of this genre as well as main idea and details.
Reminder:
The Fluency Folders will continue to come home throughout the year. Please continue to read with your child. It does make a difference! Also, these passages will continue to increase in difficulty as the children become more proficient in reading and answering questions.
Writing– We are continuing our work on our opinion papers– What Makes the Best Pet, Dogs or Cats? We are focusing on Leads and Transition words.
Spelling–we are on Lesson 5. Words are in the planner and were posted on the blog Friday. The test will be Friday.
Math– We are continuing our learning about place value, comparing numbers and rounding.
Social Studies– We will be learning about Special Purpose Maps.
Science–Energy–How Things Move.
