Following are some important happenings this week.

Wednesday, October 2 is a Late Start. School starts at 9:35.
Wednesday, October 2 BDs Mongolian Fundraiser.

In the classroom:
Reading–Have your child read each night, practicing their reading strategy to help them grow as readers. The online sources are one way to let them practice.
Writing– This is our final week writing personal narratives. We are building our stamina for writing, as well as learning about the writing process and what goes into the writing of a narrative–Setting, Characters. Problem/Solution, Dialogue
Spelling–We will focus on the long and short /e/
Cursive– We are working on the letters — a, c, o, d
Science–We continue learning about light and sound
Social Studies– We are learning about the regions of Michigan and the economic focus of the different regions
Math–Addition/subtraction number stories will be our focus this week. We are learning that we need to show our work for ALL problems as well as to be able to express our math thinking in writing.

A book Report will come home Monday.
