Week of September 23

It was wonderful to meet so many of you at Open House.
There have been a couple of papers sent home that need to be signed and return to school. If you have not returned the paper discussing concussions or the paper discussing student conduct and carrying of weapons, please do so as soon as possible. Thanks.
During the following week we will cover many things.
Science–We will be learning about shadows
Social Studies–We will be learning about the regions of Michigan and the regions Michigan belong to
Math– We will be learning about time/elapsed time, number patterns, and fact families
Writing– We will continue writing personal narratives, working on paragraphing, how to end a story, and using quotation marks.
Reading– We need to read Good-Fit Books every night to strengthen our skills. Also please question your child about what they are reading, this helps their comprehension.
We have many great libraries in Dearborn, if you do not have a library card, I encourage you to get one. It is a great source for Good-Fit Books.
Cursive– We continue learning cursive writing
Test Taking Skills–Mrs. Bush and I are teaching the children some test taking skills so they are ready for the MEAP test in October.

We have an assembly on Bullies on Wednesday.

Thanks for your commitment to your child’s education!
