Week of September 18

This week :
We will begin NWEA testing this week.
Reading-We will continue working with Narrative Text. We will be focusing on folktales. As we learn about Narratives we will be doing work with theme, main ideas, finding evidence and character development. As your child reads at home, please encourage them to read good fit books.
Writing- We are writing narratives, using the writing process. These stories can be real or make-believe.
Math- Our focus this week is on symmetry. We are finishing up our unit on geometry and will be having a test the first week in October. A study guide will come home.
Science- We are working on the energy unit.
Social Studies- We are learning about the human and physical characteristics of various locations in the United States. Constitution Day was Sunday. We discussed this important day last Friday.
Spelling-Lesson 3 test is Friday.
Leader in Me- We have set a Classroom Wig. The WIG is -85% of our class will learn their multiplication facts(0-12) by the end of January 2018. We are working on our Leadership Binders this week, so personal goals are coming.
The children are doing a wonderful job and I know they will keep it up. Thank you for your support.
