This week will be busy.
Tuesday, October 11 is Picture Day.
Wednesday, October 12 we will be going to the Book Fair at 9:00.
Friday, October 14 is a 1/2 day.

Our learning focus this week is:

Reading– 2nd Grade will be continuing their learning on Poetry. We will have a quiz on Cinquains on Friday. 3rd Grade will be continuing their learning about Myths. We will have a quiz on Myths on Friday.
Writing- Both grades are working on Narratives. We are working on organization of our writing, along with using adjectives and quotation marks.
Spelling-Lesson 6 test will be Friday. The words were posted on the blog on Friday.
Math-Both grades are working on Geometry. We are identifying 2-D & 3-D shapes,as well as dividing shapes into equal parts. Ongoing is our math fluency practice. We are learning our basic facts for addition, subtraction and third grade is learning multiplication. Second grade will be introduced to multiplication as they become fluent in addition and subtraction. There are many ways to practice facts. One way we use is MobyMax.
Science- We are doing experiments on Mixtures/solutions(2nd) and Force and Motion(3rd)
Social Studies- Second Grade continue working on different kinds of Communities. Third Grade is working on the regions of Michigan.
