There is a PTA Meeting Monday, January 23.
We have a late start on Wednesday.
There is a half day of school for the children on Friday, January 27.
In writing we will begin learning about writing compare/contrast paragraphs.
The children are doing a great job with their reading. The children are making great progress. Reading at home, as well as at school,helps the children make these strides. Remember to ask questions about what your child is reading, it helps with their comprehension. Continue to use the Parent Pipelines in this endeavor.
Also, a big THANK YOU to the PTA for getting us the TFK. It helps so much with our Informational reading.
In math, we continue to work on learning our basic math facts. By the end of the year, the third graders should know their addition, subtraction and multiplication facts. The second graders should know their addition , and subtraction facts, as well as the 0’s, 1’s, 5’s and 10’s multiplication facts.
Both grades are working on shapes and their properties. Third graders continue to work with decimals, rays, lines and line segments. The second graders are also working with shapes and adding and subtraction with regrouping.
