Camp News:  We received a donation of $500 from Drs. Stieper & Brust (Taylor/Ann Arbor Orthodontists).  If your child sees them, please say thank you for this terrific donation!  The bus was completely paid for by the fundraisers/donations and the cost of camp per child went down to $159 instead of $165.  Therefore, with the deposit paid already, we need $59 more (Cash or check to DuVall School)  by Thursday of this week.  I’m expecting most people will come to the meeting tomorrow night so I’d like to have it then please.  You will also need to bring a copy of your insurance card for us.  See you tomorrow, 6:30 in room 202.  If you can’t come to meeting, your child will get the necessary information on Wednesday.

Spelling List 2

**starting this week the students will get 5 words to study for spelling that follow a pattern.  They will be given 5 “cold” words on the day of the test that follow the same spelling pattern for the week.  The pattern for this week is short a and short e vowel sounds.

spelling words: problem, machine, snack, candy, theft

content words: quadrangles, points, lines, line segments, rays

Camp News-We have 55 students attending!  Currently we have $965 in donations (Dr. Umlauf, Dr. Levy, Dr. Batra and Dr. Norwick-pls. say THANK YOU if your child sees one of them) and from the bake sale.  After the Buffalo Wild Wings fundraiser (This Wednesday, take the flyer with you!)I will know what the total owed is for each child.  I will post on the blog as soon as I know!  We will have a final camp meeting on Tuesday, October 4 at 6:30 in room 202.  You will need to bring a copy of your insurance card and your checkbook or cash.  If you CAN’T attend, you will get the packing list the following day and will need to send in the rest of the payment owed by Thursday, October 6.  All money has to be sent to central office so the turn around time to get a check for payment to camp is SLOW, sorry for the quickness of it being due.  Any questions, email me please.

Camp

There will be a Camp Meeting for 4th and 5th grade parents in room 202 from
7-7:30 on the night of Open House.  Fourth grade parent should plan on attending so that you can ask any questions and understand the basic information about camp. If your child went to camp last year, you don’t HAVE to attend, it is information for newcomers and 4th grade parents.   We DO need a nonrefundable deposit of $100 (cash or check made out to DuVall School with your child’s name on the memo part)  by Thursday, September 22 if you plan on sending your child to camp.  We need at least 45 students to attend, the dates are October 17-19.  There will be a bake sale going on in the lobby to help raise money to offset the cost of the bus.  Please send items in for the sale if you are able 🙂

Welcome to 4th Grade!

Mrs. Pelaccio’s Classroom Rules and Behavior Plan

Classroom Rules:

  • Be Respectful: Don’t talk while the teacher/speaker is talking, don’t interrupt, Listen carefully, raise your hand, take care of your belongings and classroom
  • Treat others how you want to be treated: be polite, take turns, use manners
  • Keep your hands/feet to yourself, be aware of personal space
  • Be fair and include everyone

Behavior:

We will be using a clip/color system to monitor behavior in the classroom.  All students will begin the day on green: “Ready to Learn”.  They will get one warning to make better choices.  After a warning the student will be asked to clip down to yellow, “Think About it”.  If the student turns the behavior around he/she may have the opportunity to clip back up to green.  If the bad choices continue then the student will be asked to clip down to pink, “Teacher’s Choice” (consequence).  In the event that the behavior does not get better then the student will have to clip down to red, “Parent Contact”.
