Update + Hangouts!
I will email the weekly assignments (already up on the “WEEK 1” page of this blog) and our class will start to meet using GOOGLE HANGOUTS as per the districts instructions for distance learning. There is a new page of this blog up on the right-hand-side entitled “Google Hangouts Schedule,” use this schedule to find class meeting times. A schedule will also be emailed to you weekly. This week we are still figuring stuff out technology-wise but it has started. We are responsible for meeting and completing work. Please email me if you have any questions. Feel free to pop in and out during the scheduled HANGOUTS meeting time. I also will offer an office hours hangout on friday at the same time to address comments and concerns. Thank you.

The last three weeks all assignments will be changed to extra credit. All students have had ample opportunity to get there work, or Chromebook from the school. EVERYTHING STARTS TODAY! EVERYTHING COUNTS! Every week I will make a page of assignments, to be completed at your leisure. Average of 15-30minutes of work a day. If you look on the right side of the blog homepage you can see that this week I have put the assignments up. If anyone needs to make up missing assignments please email me. All work is due each Friday at midnight by email, or share the documents with me to Google Drive. Students who have not yet responded have been added to the list of people getting their homes called, THIS IS NOT A VACATION! Email about blog assignment will come later today. iLearn being set up, the district has told us we all will move to iLearn and being using our blogs for updates. Until my enrollment codes are functioning for you all, everything will appear on my blog, or be sent to your email. THANK YOU!

I have graded the new submissions and you can see them in the gradebook. I have decided to convert to Google Classroom which has been suggested to me. I have compiled a list of students who have not responded to emails or have not communicated with me at all since the shutdown. The office will get in touch with these students. For the rest of you who are going online and contributing to our distance learning.

Updates. Welcome Back.
Welcome back from “Spring Break.” Even though we all had to stay home it was still a work vacation for all of us. We are continuing our distance learning starting today. The administration is putting together a distance learning plan and there should be an update about it by next week and all teachers will be on the same page. Still having difficulties with iLearn, so I have begun setting up a google classroom. That should be available this week but may change as the plans for distance learning in the district might change. The situation is still very much fluid, so continue to check your emails as well as school and district websites for up-to-date news and information.
Spring Break
Update 4/1
Happy April Fools day! I have been notified from students that they were not allowed or the system would not let them enroll in my iLearn classroom. I will be working this week to fix this problem so all students will have access. I have also seen from our most recent staff meeting that a lot of teachers have been using Google Classroom and I am looking into using it instead. I will have an assignment for you all on Thursday(tomorrow) and it’ll be similar to the one we just did.
I like using the Engine Power videos because they fun, interesting and informative plus, they’re free and most students can access them with ease. Please stay tuned for more updates!
Thank you to the students who continue to turn in their work and ask questions. I will always accept any work over this time. If you are missing something email me that you want it and I will send it to you. If you take a little longer on an assignment that not a big deal, just communicate and get those assignments in. And remember, everything counts!!!
