Dear Parents,
It has been my pleasure to teach your children this year. They were a great class. They worked hard and made so much progress this year. They are ready for third grade!
It has also been my pleasure to get to know each and every one of you. I appreciate your kind words, the work you did with your children, the late night reading, studying spelling words, and the help and support you gave me throughout the year.
I wish each of you a great summer and I will give you a list of activities you can do over the summer:
Language Arts: Visit our library each Monday. There will be book check out, science experiments, math games, and a drawing for books that have been read by your child.
Writing: Practice common core activities: Writing letters, practice using descriptive words, write opinion papers, or keep a journal. Also, try and read some nonfiction books and write “Wow facts” in a journal. Your kids will know what “Wow facts” are.
Math: Visit these sites:
Mrs. Alvarado’s site
abcya.com
everydaymathonline.com (Your child can bring their passwords home)

One last reminder:

We already have 1 case of water but we still need another case.
Thank you,

Dear Parents,
I can’t believe it is our last week of school.
Below are some updates I wanted to mention:
Picnic: Our class picnic is tomorrow from 12:45-3:15. Please refer to the updated list that I sent home last week of what everyone is bringing.
I’d like to add that Owen’s mom can volunteer as well as Mrs. Linenkugel or Nolin’s Grandma. We still need other volunteers as well. Volunteers will simply come to the school around 12:00 and check in at the office. They will then help set up tables outside the Kindergarten door. Mr. Sitarski (our engineer)should have all of these tables set up already. Parents can just start setting up food as the kids will come out about 12:45. Actually, if you wanted to come around 12:30 that would be fine too.
Library Books: Library books were due last week. Please make sure that all books have been turned in.
Classroom Books: Please be sure that all classroom books have been turned in as well.
Classroom Week:
TUesday: Class Picnic
Wednesday: Full Day
Thursday: Half Day: Last day of school. Students will be dismissed at 11:45.
Friday: No school.
Thursday: Our class will be celebrating by playing indoor games. If your child has an indoor game they’d like to bring to school that day, that would be fine.
Math Journals and Home Link Unit 11: We came close to finishing our Math Journal and Home Links. Please have your child finish any uncompleted pages for extra practice this summer.
Thank you! Let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
Sincerely,
Gina Parana

I will not be sending home a Homework Machine anymore. I will try and post the homework on the blog. Kids are pretty responsible at this point to know what their homework is.
Today is Home Link 11.3 and of course reading and spelling!
