Hi Families,
It’s been a rough weekend and start to the week for me. I’ve been very sick here at home. Nevertheless, I keep up with what is going on and know the kids are doing well with their math test that they took today. It will be checked and sent home soon. There won’t be any math homework today since we had our test.
We will have 20 minutes of reading tonight, practicing your child’s part in the play, and practicing spelling.
A great thing to do tonight since there isn’t any math homework is to go on to everydaymath.com and put in your child’s username and password and play some of the games. One of our 2nd grade goals is to be fluent with adding and subtracting facts. There are many games on there that can build math fluency. Also, practicing addition and subtraction facts with the fact triangles is always a great thing to do!
Conferences are tomorrow and Thursday. I look forward to seeing those of you I haven’t talked with yet. I am lucky to know and meet with such great families!
Library day every Wednesday! Remember your library books!
Also, thank you for all of the volunteers and donations for the Thanksgiving soup on Monday. My substitute is bringing the notes to me today so I can see how many volunteers we have. If we get enough volunteers for that day your child will just need to bring a bag full of carrots, celery or onions. Anything that can be cut up and put into soup. I’ll send an updated list when I see the notes!
Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Gina Parana
