Weekly News for September 19th

Posted by on September 19, 2016

Dear Parents,

It’s been a great start to the year. It was great seeing everyone at Open House.
Below I will give an overview of what the next week will look like.

First, I’d like to thank everyone for all of the supplies you’ve sent in so far!

Homework: We have homework pretty much every night. It is usually a math review that can be done independently. Your child may need help from time to time.
We will have reading homework as well. I have told the kids to read for 20 minutes each night and record the minutes and pages read in their planner. REading homework will occur Monday-Thursday, then Sunday evening. A total grade for that week then would be 5/5.
Planners also need to be signed each night. That way, you are involved in the school day and know what your child needs to complete for that evening.

Class Rules:
Listen
Follow directions
Be safe
Be responsible
Be respectful

Consequences:
Warning
Time out
Note home
Loss of recess
Office

Class Dojo: Please sign up for Class dojo if you have not done so already:) IT is a great way to see how your child is doing with their behavior each day.

Needed Supplies: We are always in need of lysol wipes, extra pencils, and dry erase markers.
At this point your child should have: 4 notebooks, crayons, scissors, glue, and a take home folder.

Spelling: Words this week are:
problem
latitude
machine
system
member
snack
happen
candy
theft
travel
points
lines

quadrangles

Nwea testing: Our first round of NWEA testing will begin tomorrow. Please get a good night’s sleep and eat a good breakfast.

Thank you,
Gina Parana
