Reading Log:
Dearborn has a third grade initative that all third graders will read at grade level by third grade or they will be held back. Reading for 20 minutes each night will help students stay on track as far as reaching grade level or above by the end of the year. Great job on reading and recording the minutes on the reading logs sent home and returning the reading log in the folders each day.
NWEA Testing: Wednesday and Thursday we will test for the mid year NWEA reading and math. The purpose of the test is to track and monitor student progress, to develop new reading and math goals for students, to ensure students are being challenged and retaining grade level and above material. Please be sure students go to bed early and eat a good breakfast. Healthy snacks are encouraged at school for the morning and optional snacks for the afternoon.
Half Day: Friday, January 18th, students will be dismissed at 11:45. Teachers will be working on report cards that afternoon.
No School: Monday, January 21: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Half Day: Tuesday, January 22: Teacher Duty Day.
Enjoy your week!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Gina Parana
