Weekly News for January 23rd

Posted by on January 23, 2017

Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new week!
This week we have a half day on Friday, with dismissal being at 11:45. It is a teacher duty day in the afternoon, an afternoon to get ready for the 2nd cardmarking report cards.

Spelling this week: neutral, fatal, numeral, although, almonds, total, final, medal, vocal, royal, executive branch, legislative branch, judicial branch, separate, balance.

Math tests were passed back and students did pretty well.
We will start this week looking at place value and decimals.

In Science we are ending our hands on unit on matter.

Social Studies we will be studying our government.

NWEA testing is continuing this week so please get plenty of rest and have your child eat a good breakfast each day.

Thank you for logging reading minutes in the planner each night and asking your children comprehension questions. We are really working on context clues: using the surrounding sentence to help figure out what words mean.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

This Friday dismissal time is at 11:45 for teacher duty day. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Gina Parana
