Academic Dishonesty, Revisited

Good Evening,

Over the course of the past few days, I have been checking papers and I am noticing a trend…again.  The trend is not a fashionable one, but rather, one in poor choice — academic dishonesty.

According to the Dearborn Public Schools Guidelines for Grading, the policy is as follows:

“Cheating, however, is a disciplinary issue which may result in a zero, whether the work involved is a formative or a summative assessment.”

Here is the link, if you would like to read it yourself:  https://dearbornschools.org/academics/guidelines-for-grading

If you copied on an assignment, I gave you a zero and made a note that said, “COPYING – ACADEMIC DISHONESTY.”

This is the second time I have had to make a blog post about this and I will also remind you all of this in class tomorrow.  I am really disappointed and very upset about this.  Copying does not equal learning.

Please do not email me about this issue.

Thank you,

Miss Palonis
