Last Week in Review and This Week’s Preview!

Good evening, everyone!

Last week we created NewsELA accounts and started working on the article of the week online.  This week, I hope we can finish the article on Monday during class so we can get this week’s article going!

We also finished reading, “The Monkey’s Paw” and the two activities for the story; the plot diagram and poster.  Posters will be graded and posted in the classroom this week.

On Thursday and Friday, we started digging into Unit Two’s topic: Stereotypes.  We had a lot of fun with the bell work and circle map!!  We also started watching the documentary, “We’re Not White” on Friday.  If you missed class on Friday, you can find the video here:

Each class got about 20 minutes into the film.  I plan to finish it tomorrow (10/29/18).  We will be working on argument writing and will be using the notetaker I passed out to you as a guide.

Needless to say, this week will be full of writing!
