Weeks 12 and 13

What a busy week! First, I would like to thank all parents that were able to attend conferences. We had a great turnout! Your students did a great job leading the way! I felt that they we very honest in their reflections. I wanted to send out an apology if any of you felt as if I rushed to complete your conference. If you felt that we did not discuss everything you wanted or if you were unable to attend conferences, please email me and we can set up an additional time to talk.

In class this week we completed our first Unit! Students took a Unit Test on Wednesday this week. Overall scores were good. If your student is unhappy with their score (70% or less), re-takes are available. Students wishing to re-take a test will need to setup a retake with me ahead of time. Any retake will take place after school. I am typically here until 4:00 so your student would need to be picked up at that time.

We also started our first lesson in Unit 2. This lesson is about visually seeing what it means to divide by fractions. The lesson is only 3 days long. We will conclude the lesson on Monday and take the quiz on Tuesday. This will mean students will not have homework over Thanksgiving Break.

Please remember that if you ever have any questions or concerns you can email me at osaka@dearbornschools.org
