Needs

As always, Kleenex is appreciated.

7th Grade Mathematics

If your student does not have dry erase markers or earbuds, it might be a good idea to purchase some for your student. Some Chromebook activities that we work on in class will have material for students to listen to. Please have a pair that can plug into the computer. I do not know how well air-pods work with these computers.

We just completed Lesson 4 yesterday with a quiz. For the most part, students did really well! Grades are up to date so please check your student’s grades on Parent Connect. Lesson 5 has begun today. We are shifting our focus to fractions and decimals. We will be revisiting finding equivalent fractions and using long division to convert fractions into decimals. Students will need to know the difference between terminating and repeating decimals. I will be posting videos and resources in Google Classroom that students can use to help them if they are struggling or if they just want extra material to study. The week will go as follows:

  • Monday- Collect Homework (and progress reports sent home last week). Review for Lesson 4 quiz by going over pgs. 32-35 in our Ready textbook. HW-Study for Quiz!
  • Tuesday- Collect any homework (and progress reports are due to be signed and turned in). Lesson 4 Quiz!
  • Wednesday- Introduce Lesson 5. Work on pgs. 36-37 in Ready textbooks. HW: (new packet given) pgs. 39-40
  • Thursday- (Flex Day- Some students will get bonus time with me during this time.) Continue Lesson 5. Ready textbook pgs. 38-39. HW: pgs. 41-42
  • Friday: Continue Lesson 5. Ready textbook pgs. 40-41. HW: pgs. 43-44

Computer Applications

If your child does not have earbuds or headphones, it might be a good idea to purchase some for your student. There are some activities that we do in class that require students to listen to a video. Please do not send in air-pods, they will not work with the computers. (Send in ones that can be plugged into the desktop).

We finished Microsoft Word and are starting with Excel today. The week’s plan is:

  • Monday- Drawing project in Word
  • Tuesday- Continue drawing project
  • Wednesday- Word Reflection. Start Excel Activity #1
  • Thursday- Complete Activity #1 (Start Activity #2?)
  • Friday- Makeup any missing work.
