Post 21

Hello! The first full week back to school was a success! Students finished Lesson 11 this week and took the quiz on Wednesday. We completed an ISN entry on the coordinate plane and then started Lesson 12 today. For the past 10 days students should have been working on review assignments in the iLearn system. They were expected to get an 85% or better on each assignment. I will be posting grades for this on Monday. This will give any students that had trouble getting them done by the due date (today) just a little extra time to complete them. Any work that they show for this assignment should be completed on loose leaf paper to be collected on Monday as well.

Progress reports were sent home to EVERYONE today (yes, even if they have an A) for my class. I am asking that you sign them to be returned on Monday. Any missing assignments can still be made up! Please look over this with your student and help hold them accountable. I can make extra copies of packets if asked.

RETAKE POLICY: Some students have already approached me about re-taking a quiz after seeing their progress report grade. I informed each class that in order to have the opportunity to do the retake quiz, they need to:

  1. Have a score less than 70%
  2. Return signed progress report
  3. Attend a lunch tutoring session with me: (get lunch, come to my room, eat and listen to review)
    • Monday – Lesson 10 Review Session
    • Tuesday – X fractions with cc (cross-cancelling) Review
    • Wednesday – Lesson 11 Review
  4. Stay after school on Tuesday, March 5 or Thursday, March 7 to complete the retake. I will need to leave at 4:00 so please pick up your child by this time. (Of course if they finish early I will have them call you. (Students will only be able to retake Lesson 11 quiz on Thursday due to the review session being on a Wednesday).

Lesson 12 is a very quick lesson. Students will be taking another quiz by the end of next week (possibly Wednesday) so please be sure to make sure they are staying on top of homework assignments and are studying so they do not fall behind.

As always if you have any questions please feel free to email me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Thank you for your continued support,

Mrs. Osak
