Post 19

Welcome to the 2nd half of the school year! Grades were submitted Friday last week for the 2nd card marking.

Last week: We finished Chapter 9 on adding and subtracting decimals with a quiz. Students had 2 days to complete the quiz if needed (most did not). We also were able to finish NWEA for our winter progress. Students who were not happy with their scores can improve by studying skills on Khan academy. It is recommended that students try to get at least 30 minutes each week.

We took our time this week and only worked on the first half of lesson 10. This focuses on multiplying decimals. Thursday and Friday we tried to work in stations that lasted approximately 20 minutes each giving students the chance to move around the room and do a new task. Some students struggled with this. Any additional time today was supposed to be used on work from previous stations that did not get completed. If they did not finish an assignment in class, it was considered homework. At most, students should have the 9 question multiplying with decimals worksheet and the 12 question picture page. These need to be completed for Monday (colored as well).

Next weeks plan is to review work from stations and give additional help to students still struggling with multiplication and start on division of decimals. We will not have a quiz until the first week of February.

Donations Needed! I am still in need of Kleenex! Only a few students managed to contribute to the class. Please help out if you can!
