Monday – Students will continue gathering data for ” Drops on a Penny” Lab , answer questions, and complete graph

Retake applications for Inquiry Scientific Method Exam are on iLearn along with the Review that must be completed prior to taking a retake.  Retakes will be after school

Students will discuss the many levels of biological organization – Read to the Diagram –

Prepare vocabulary for chapter 18. Introduction to Ecology

Thursday – Study the interactions within an Ecosystem

By studying the transmission of Lyme disease – students can analyze the interactions that occur between living organisms in an ecosystem and realize how one might affect the other

Friday – Continue studying the Ecosytems components – begin group questions and posters for 18-3 Energy Transfer in an ecosystem

Week of September 14th

Biology 9th grade:

This week we will follow the following plan:

Monday – Groups will present the questions from the Text on Ch. 1 and we will work on important vocabulary for this section on Scientific method

Tuesday – We will learn how to write a good hypothesis – and be able to identify – independent and dependent variables

Wednesday- Collecting data and how to present it.  Graphing skills will be reviewed

Thursday – How to write a strong Conclusion – What needs to be included

Prep for Penny Lab –

Friday – penny lab and review for upcoming Quiz

Friday January 16th

Finals begin – Today 7th hour

For other hours:

Continue with final review – clear up any questions

Off Monday – Tuesday – Thursday Finals

Wednesday January 14th

Review for final

Groups will present their finding on cell transport

Students will do a galley walk and answer the questions on their worksheet

If time permits we will begin the station lab on cell transport

Tuesday January 13th

We will begin to review for the final –

Go over the key concepts and structure of a cell membrane

Break out into groups to answer key questions about diffusion and osmosis :  cell transport ch. 5

Monday January 12th

Today we will watch 2 short videos on how viruses spread

Go over the virus questions from Friday, work in groups and present to the class with discussion

Work on questions about the cell membrane

Pass out the final review

We will be going over our bacteria homework and grading

Comparing Eukaryotic cells and prokaryotic cells

Completing a reading and answering questions on viruses in class
