Hi everyone, I hope you had a great weekend!
You can find our calendar for the week under the Remote Learning page on my blog, but I will also add it below this post.
A few important reminders for this week….
Our district has released the Continuity of Learning Plan for the rest of the school year. It is available on Dearborn Public Schools’ home page, as well as Howard School’s blog. Please look it over (parents) so that you understand the expectations and direction the rest of the year will take in regards to participation, grading, etc. If you have any questions, I will do my best to answer!
Math: Please continue to keep up with Zearn. Most of you are doing an EXCELLENT job with this!! I have just a few students who need to make sure you are doing a lesson a day, or more, to get caught up. This is part of your math grade, and your ‘attendance’ or participation grade, too. As far as the Succeed pages go, please make sure to always do #1, 2, and 3– if you get stuck on the rest, it is okay to stop, but I suggest at least giving them a try. I highly recommend you watch the Eureka Math Videos I have linked under a page in my blog, as well as check with the homework solutions I posted.
Reading: Most of you are also doing an awesome job with ReadWorks/Flocabulary. You MUST write in complete sentences to earn full credit! I have several shoutouts of students who are doing an amazing job with writing complete, detailed sentences that include text evidence– Way to go Mia, Ali S., Mohamed D., Celine, Mahdi, Maya, Jonah, Jacob, Ali Y., and Mona!! I am sure there are more of you too, but those are the names that stuck out for this week’s shoutouts. Please check for feedback on all your assignments. I respond in the comment section of ReadWorks/Flocabulary often.
One more note on reading– if you need new books, Epic is offering teachers and students free access for the rest of the school year. They have a lot of great books to read on there, full length chapter books even, that you guys already love to read at school! (Yes, even some graphic novels). If you would like the class code for that, let me know and I can get you set up.
Google Meet for this week will be tomorrow, 4/21. Girls at 12 PM and Boys at 1 PM! We will try to keep this schedule for the remainder of the year. We will talk about your social studies project at that time. Try to come up with a ‘rough draft’ – can be just a list of ideas- to share then. 🙂
