Field Trip Tomorrow/Weekly Updates

Hi everyone!

We are so excited about our field trip to the zoo tomorrow. A few reminders: Students should dress for the weather, including a warm coat, hat, and gloves. I do not think they will need boots, as the snow is mostly melted and the zoo has cleared the sidewalks. That is up to you and your child! Lunch WILL be provided, but students may bring a snack to eat when we return to school tomorrow afternoon. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about animals and their adaptations, as we begin our Project-Based Learning unit on animals! Your child will be choosing an animal to study in detail. Hopefully they get an up-close view of their animal tomorrow 🙂

Our concert is this Thursday, November 21. Mrs. Bagnall has done a wonderful job preparing them for the performance! Please have students in my classroom at 5:45 PM on Thursday, as the concert will start promptly at 6. We are also asking that you wait until the end of the concert for the big 4th/5th grade finale, and then I will be walking the students back to my classroom. Please pick up your child from my room so that I can make sure everyone is accounted for and that everyone is going home with their parent.

Finally, Picture Retake Day is this Friday (November 22) if anyone needs or wants their pictures retaken.

Spelling/vocabulary words for the week: adaptation, thrive, survive, camouflage, cactus, desert, rainforest, protection, environment.

Have a great week!
