The movie Cinderella Man gives a pretty good depiction of the Great Depression.  It is a true story from the depression era.  Based on the movie, write a 250 word essay explaining the great depression.  Use examples (at least 3) from the movie as evidence of what people went through during the Great Depression.  This is not a review of the movie… it is a DESCRIPTION of the depression using examples from the movie.  Use the guided movie notes as an aid when writing the essay.

Grading Criteria:

1. Proper spelling of content area words and correct usage of capitalization (Conventions) +/- 10 pts.
2. Be sure to give 3 examples of how the movie showed (depicted) what happened in the depression (ideas and content) +/- 10 pts.
3. The essay flows in a logical format and has correct use of paragraphing (Organized) +/- 10 pts.
