All About Mrs.Murray

My name is Jennifer Murray. I have been teaching since 1990. In 1992 I moved to Dallas,Texas to get a full time teaching job. I lived there for 6 years teaching Kindergarten for Dallas Public Schools.  I got married to Frank Murray, my husband while I was living in Texas. I had my first child, Patrick while I was living in Texas. In 1998 I moved back to Michigan and started teaching in Dearborn. I had my daughter, Kendall in 1999. From 1998 to 2008 I taught Kindergarten. In 2008 I began teaching First grade. I really love First Grade! I also LOVE my school, Iris Becker Elementary. It is the BEST!! Some of my favorite things to do are….read books, watch movies, walk for fitness, watch tv shows, knit, read magazines, go shopping, take photographs, make scrapbooks, sing in the church choir, spend time with my family, and watch the Red Wings, the Tigers or the Lions playing LIVE or on T.V.!!!!

UPDATE: August 2017, I became an E.C.S. teacher. I am now a kindergarten
reading specialist. I am so happy to be working at Becker Elementary School as well as Lowrey Elementary School. I love working with small groups and teaching children how to read. It is going to be a fun, learning year for me!!

Update: August 2019, I am still a Reading Specialist, for Kindergarten students, A.K.A, ECS. I am working in three buildings this year. I am continuing on at Becker and Lowrey, my new school placement is Lindbergh Elementary. It is a very busy schedule, but I enjoy meeting new people and I love what I do.

Update: September 2022, I am still an ECS reading specialist, working with Kindergarten students. I work at Becker and River Oaks. I love my job and the students that I work with every day.

  1. Hello! I don’t know if you’ll ever see this message. It looks like there hasn’t been an update since 2019. My name is Tahanni. I’m 90% sure you we’re my kindgertan teacher at Salina. I think it was either 1998 or 1999. I don’t know if you even remember me or if you were the Mrs. Murray who taught me long ago. But I just wanted to say either way you were and still are the best teacher I ever had. I have memories to this day that I look back on fondly! You we’re simply amazing, sweet, caring, and a pure delight! Thank you so much Mrs. Murray!!!

  2. Tahanni,
I sent you an email, thank you so much for your sweet comments. I remember you. Let me know if you get my email. Hope you are doing well.

  3. Hello, I hope you are well! I was looking back at old pictures for fun and wondered whether some of my teachers were still at Becker; I saw that you updated this blog in 2023! I do not know if you remember me, but I was a student of yours in kindergarten and first grade. I would be delighted to hear from you, I wish you all the best!
