Thursday:

*Bell Work

*Identifying themes using the Carousel method.  Students went to five different stations that each had a short story for students to read with partners.  They were required to answer four questions after each read aloud.

1)  Identify the main subject.  Example:  forgiveness, hope, strength…

2)  What action (s) do the characters take involving the particular subject?

3)  What are the effects or consequences of these actions?

4)  Create a theme statement.  Example: Forgiveness can lead to positive outcomes in a personal life.

*Homework:  “Abula” Lesson if not finished in class.

 

Friday:

*Them “Abula” Test #1

*Test #2 – Students write their own story with a “them”.

Homework:  Parent Signature on Progress Report.  Due Monday.
