Academic Activities
Helloooooooooo all you super heroes out there! Are you enjoying super hero week? I know I am!
Today our guest reader is Mrs. Stortini and she is going to read a story called, ” Avengers, Shake to Assemble!”
1. Who was your favorite super hero in the story? Was it silly Iron Man? Thundering Thor? Sneaky Black Widow? Draw a picture of your favorite Avenger from the story and write a sentence about why they were your favorite!
2. For math today we’re going to use the shapes we’ve learned to build our own superhero! You’ll need paper, crayons, scissors, and a glue stick for this lesson.
- Draw 2 rectangles, 2 circles, 2 squares, 2 triangles, and 2 diamonds. Then use scissors to cut out the shapes.
- Use the shapes to build your super hero! Here is one example, but you can design yours however you want.

- Glue your shape superhero to another piece of paper.
- Use your crayons to color and add details like eyes, costume, mouth, etc.
- Take a picture and send it to me!

Lunch Time
Remember to eat your fruits and vegetables <3 Ms. Stafiej is having a pizza quesadilla with strawberries!
Chore Time
Clean your spot after lunch, help to wash the dishes, clean up your toys and your room.
Quiet Time
Children have time to relax and “charge” their bodies. If your child doesn’t normally nap at home, they can read stories or do a quiet activity of your choice (no screens please!)
Work Time
5 to 10 minutes | Plan for Work Time: Build your child’s ability to organize their time by having them make a “plan” with you about what they would like to play with. Children do this everyday with us at school. It helps children learn to organize their thoughts. Adults make plans all the time to organize their thoughts (shopping lists are made before going to the grocery store, to do lists are made to help plan your day etc..). Kids will tell you what they are planning to do/want to play with/how they will use toys at home. التخطيط لوقت العمل ( وقت اللعب): ساعد طفلك على بناء مهارة تنظيم الوقت بوضع خطة معهم عن لعبهم. هذا ما كان يفعله كل الطلاب كل يوم في المدرسة. هذا يساعد الأولاد على تنظيم أفكارهم. الأهل أيضا يضعون خطط دائما لتنظيم أفكارهم مثل قائمة التسوق قبل الذهاب إلى المتجر, كتابة القوائم تساعد على تنظيم اليوم….. الأولاد سوف يخبروكم ما هي خطتهم/ ماذا سيلعبون/ مع من سيلعبون/ ماذا سيستخدمون من أدوات في لعبهم |

5 to 10 minutes | Recall Time: Build your child’s memory of events by having your child tell you what they did while they played (ask “tell me how you did that” or “what did you do next?”) وقت التذكر: بناء ذاكرة الأولاد و مراجعة الأحداث عن طريق جعل طفلك يعيد سرد ما قام به خلال وقت اللعب( اسال طفلك: اخبرني كيف قمت بذلك؟ أو ماذا فعلت بعد ذلك؟) |
Daily 5 – Listen to Reading
Have the children collect a few books they would like to hear. Parents read to your child!
