Greetings,
Welcome to the PreK classroom for children with Autism.
My name is Amber Fontana and I will be your child’s teacher this year. Since I will be spending a great deal of time with your child, I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you a few things about myself, both personally and professionally. This school year starts my 9th year as a special education teacher. Prior to teaching for Dearborn Public Schools, I attended Eastern Michigan University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree. My certification includes a Michigan State Elementary Professional Certificate to teach grades preK-12, with an endorsement in Special Education for grades preK-12. I obtained my Master’s Degree also through Eastern Michigan University in the area of Autism. I enjoy spending time with my family, golfing, crossfit, and walking my dog Harlee.
Teaching is what I was born to do. It is a job I love and I feel blessed to spend the day with your child. I look forward to a great year of exciting learning experiences with the students. It is my goal to provide a safe and nurturing environment where your child can develop a love for learning and find great joy and strength in communicating with me and others. You will hear from me often through the classroom website about what we are doing in class and about special activities or events that are coming up. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Your support and input are most valuable to me.
Sincerely,
Amber Fontana
