Agenda for the week
Reading/writing We worked on the letter Aa. We are learning to recognize the letter, write it correctly and learning it’s sound. We are learning to write by drawing a picture and labeling it. We are learning to stretch out our words and write down the sounds we hear. Please help your child to listen for the beginning sounds of the words when they are writing at home. Please keep the ABC chart out when you are practicing writing with your child. It shows how to write all of the capital and lowercase letters. We are learning about sight words. This week’s word was see. We wrote sentences with the word see and learned to read a book called Outside. Please practice writing sentences with the word I, a and see at home. You can use the sentence starter I see a… and let your child sound out the rest of the words in their sentence.
Math We are working on subtraction and greater than and less than. We learned about the hungry alligator.
Social Studies We are learning about maps and dinosaurs.
Science We are learning about weather.
Now that the cold weather is here please send dry shoes for your child to change into if they are wearing boots to school.
Please make sure to empty the green folders each night! It is very difficult and time consuming to locate homework or important notes when the folder is full of papers from the day before. Remember to initial the communication log and feel free to add any notes to me!
Please help your child to learn how to put on their coat and zip it by themselves. Remember, to teach them how to tie their shoes or send them to school in velcro shoes.
