Agenda for the week

Reading/writing  We worked on the letter Pp. We are learning to identify the upper and lowercase letter and make the sound of Pp.  We learned a poem about  a pig. Please continue helping your child write their first and last name at home.  We began writer’s workshop and are learning how to draw a picture and label it or write about it. Students should be practicing identifying the letters of the alphabet. Students should be able to make the sound of each letter.  I will be testing the students weekly to see how many letters they can identify.  In order for your child to be ready for kindergarten they must be able to identify all capital and lowercase letters and make the sound of every letter.  Please have your child work on reading eggs at least 3 days a week.

Math   We continue to work on shapes and numbers 0-5. Your student should be able to identify the number and show me how many for each number 0-5.  We will review all the shapes and take a test on Friday, 10-120-17. Please  have your child work on Math Seeds 3 days a week.

Social  Studies  We are learning about how to be a good citizen.  We are learning to share and take our turn.

Science  We  completed our unit on the 5 senses and on apples.  Due to technical difficulties we were unable to make applesauce.

Folders

Please make sure to empty the green folders each night! It is very difficult and time consuming to locate homework or important notes when the folder is full of papers from the day before. Remember to initial the communication log and feel free to add any notes to me!

Snack   Please remember to send only health snacks like fruit, vegetables, and cheese and crackers.
