Math seeds is a wonderful program just like reading eggs that will help your child learn how to count, add, subtract, and much more!
Please integrate reading eggs and math seeds into your nightly routine as a part of your child’s homework!
If you misplaced your child’s reading eggs password, please send me an email and I will be happy to send you that information again.

Agenda for the week
The children had a great time at the orchard!!! If you have pictures please email them to me at venskod@dearbornschools.org
Reading/writing We are listening to stories and making predictions and asking questions about what will happen next in the story. We worked on the letter Dd. We learned a poem about a dragon. Please continue helping your child write their first and last name at home. We began writer’s workshop and are learning how to draw a picture and label it or write about it. Students should be practicing identifying the letters of the alphabet. On Monday, I will be sending home flash cards for the capital and lowercase letters. You can use them like flash cards, your child can make their name with the cards or you can have them match the capital letter with the lower case letter. Students should be able to make the sound of each letter. I will be testing the students weekly to see how many letters they can identify. In order for your child to be ready for kindergarten they must be able to identify all capital and lowercase letters and make the sound of every letter. Please have your child work on reading eggs at least 3 days a week.
Math Next week , we will continue to work on shapes and numbers 0-5. We are learning to write and recognize the numbers. Please have your child work on Math Seeds 3 days a week.
Social Studies We are learning about how to be responsible for ourselves at school. We are earning “Hoots” for good behavior.
Science We are continuing our unit on apples. We are going to make apples sauce next week. We learned about what is inside an apple.
Folders
Please make sure to empty the green folders each night! It is very difficult and time consuming to locate homework or important notes when the folder is full of papers from the day before. Remember to initial the communication log and feel free to add any notes to me!
Snack Please remember to send only health snacks like fruit, vegetables, and cheese and crackers.
