Well hello there! How’s your Monday going? I’m sure you all heard the Governor’s announcement today for a stay-at-home order. At my house we’ve been laying low, trying to get outside activity in throughout our neighborhood and places where there won’t be tons of people. We plan on changing that up just a bit now and staying only here in our neighborhood. All future outdoor activity videos from my will be from my yard haha!

We are currently exploring all the board games we never knew we had! Tonight is the night for your family to play one, snap a pic of the game or puzzle and send to Ms. Tiba. We would love to see all the fun games you all are playing! Aubree just learned to play Sorry this weekend. 🙂

As far as Google Classroom is concerned…you guys are killing it! Truly amazing! If you are unable to access (I know there’s some technical difficulties for some of you and I’ve reached out to Computer Services), please use the following as a general guideline of possible weekly activities.

Writing/journaling—it would be so fun to start a COVID-19 journal as when your children are older this will become part of their history classes. Why not start a journal at home and have them keep track of what they’re doing?! Honestly, writing about anything, any day would keep our skills sharp! Don’t forget spaces, punctuation and letter formation. 🙂

Reading–keep reading to them and have them read every day. There’s a tab on the blog for the Rainbow words for those of you who need additional sight word lists to read.

Math–the Eureka modules are posted in the classroom and are also easy to find on YouTube. The videos are less that 10 minutes each and you could type in Kindergarten Eureka Modules and find tons of them in there even for review of skills from past modules. If you are newer to the classroom, head over to YouTube and start with Kindergarten Eureka Module 1 lesson 1. For those of us up to date on the lessons, this week you can check out lessons 30-34 from Module 4. Beginning addition and subtraction is what we are working on.

Social studies and science are also updated in the Google Classroom. Again, if you’re having issues with it feel free to look up videos on seasons and our flag/being a good citizen.

Our word pattern this week is –it. Lists of words or circle maps with pictures are a great idea!

The kids who are doing Xtramath.org multiple times per week are really going up in score! It’s crazy how fast they learn their addition facts!
