Hello! Here’s your information for this busy week!

Language Arts–this week we shift back into informational text and opinion writing; we will be learning more about how nonfiction texts are set up and learning new vocabulary; in writing we will be learning how to express our opinions using sentence starters like “I think” or “My opinion is”. We will also be learning how to use the word “because” to give a reason to support our opinion

Math–we are just a bit ahead of the other class in our modules so today we learning how to use dominoes to practice addition facts. If you have a set of dominoes at home this is a great way to practice! If you don’t have a set, you can choose to purchase a set at the Dollar Tree for fun! We will be doing some assessments this week and will work through lessons 24-26.

Spelling–this week’s patter is -ap (lap, cap, rap, said, you, my…challenge words are strap and flap). You will notice that said and you are back on the list! Many students had great difficulty with these words. They are very commonly used in our texts and in our writing so I’m choosing to put them on the list again for additional practice.

Social studies and science are pretty much the same! 🙂 Today was the day that baby pictures were due! If you forgot to send one, please do so ASAP!

Spring pictures are tomorrow. ALL students will be photographed. You can purchase in advance or you can look at a proof that will come and decide from there. We are scheduled at 9:00.

Concert on Thursday! Be lined up at the lockers at 6:20.

Half day this Friday!! Dismissal at 11:45.

Snack reminder….all snacks need to be healthy. Things like crackers, cheese, fruits, veggies, yogurt, etc. are just fine! Things like cupcakes, pudding, candy, brownies, cookies, etc. just don’t fit the bill for snacks at school. ALL SNACKS NEED TO BE TREE NUT AND PEANUT FREE! If a snack comes in with nuts, I cannot allow your child to eat it. It can go down to the lunch room at lunch with them, but cannot be consumed here in the classroom. Thank you for your help with this.
