Hello! What a great 100th day celebration we had! The hats they made looked adorable! And of course they were the cutest old folks! Here’s your information for this week
Language Arts–our sight word is “am” and we are back to narrative reading and writing; we are focusing on making connections to our reading (This reminds me of…); if your child is still struggling with pencil grip, I’d like to suggest these pencils from Amazon…they are awesome!
Spelling–this week’s pattern is -ig; pig, jig, big, like, go, see; challenge words: liked, looked; many students need extra practice at home as our in class activities are not quite securing the pattern for a handful of them (we use magnetic letters, rainbow writing and other tools to help us during the week)
Science–we are learning about weather in each season
Social Studies–we are learning that we are responsible, have a past, and that we go to school
Math–still in module 4; this week’s lessons are 10-13; please remember to complete the matching page at home in the homework book!
Valentine’s Day is Friday!!! We are making bags to hold our valentines in class so no need to make a container at home; we have 21 students in our classroom; we will be making a craft and having a snack in class; remember, do NOT have your child address valentines to specific students; please fill out the from portion with their name (them writing it is preferred!)
Next week we are on mid-winter break! (I’m taking my oldest for her first college visit…yikes!!! Pray for me lol!)
Popcorn sale on Friday! 25 cents per bag
Have a GREAT week and safe travels to those of you getting away next week! Bring me back some sun!
