Hello, families! I cannot believe that January is almost over! Here’s your information for the week.
Report cards are coming home today. Please keep the report card and send me back the envelope signed. In the language section, please remember that this assesses not their spoken language, but their ability to write with conventions of language (punctuation, capitals, etc.). Think of it as more of a writing grade.
Language Arts–our sight word for this week is “have”. We will be working for 2 more weeks on informational texts then switching back to narrative.
Math–we didn’t get as far as I would’ve liked last week in math so for this week we will be completing lessons 3-6. This module (module 4) lasts a very long time. I don’t expect to complete it until some time in March. It is all about number bonds (part, part, whole) and addition up to 10.
Science–we will continue working on our weather unit
Social Studies–continuing with our Who Am I part of this unit
Spelling List: can, man, fan, up, is, look….challenge words are: plan, than (You should have seen the test from last week come home. Only 8 words are graded and that does not include the challenge words.)
Book Fair coming soon! We are signed up to preview on February 3rd.
Please remember to sign up for Mr. Harvey’s Heart Challenge! We would love to earn an extra PE time with him.
The fevers have been running around our room taking out small pockets of kids at desks and the carpet areas. Thank you for keeping them at home until they are fever free for 24 hours without Tylenol/Motrin. Although I recognize it is inconvenient for working parents (including myself) for your child to be out multiple days, we greatly appreciate you keeping your child home until they are completely well. I am wiping down spaces in addition to anything Mr. Mat cleans.
Thanks and have a great week!
