Happy 100th Day of School!

Today was our 100th day of school!  To celebrate, the students wrote about what they would buy if they had $100.  They also had to work together to build something with 100 cups and they had to organize fruit loops into groups of 10 to total 100 and then they made a necklace with them.

Timelines!

Come see our classes timelines today when you pick up your child or tomorrow when you drop off.  They are displayed in the hall outside of the classroom.  Everyone did such a wonderful job on them!

Family Timeline Project

Dear Parents,

In class the children have been learning about changes over time and what better way to show changes over time than with a timeline!  Each family will be asked to put together a simple timeline of their children.  We are asking that you choose one pictures for each year of your child’s life and glue them to a poster board with a short description of each picture.  Be creative and use this week off to complete the project with your child!

Please return timelines Monday, February 26th, 2018.

Spelling and Bake Sale

To help the students prepare for their third spelling test, I sent home a two sided worksheet.  On the first side, they are to write the word to match the picture.  On the second side, they are to write a sentence for each word.  Please encourage your child to stretch out their words when writing.  The spelling test will be given first thing in the morning.

Tomorrow, Mrs. Wagner and Mrs. Nickles’ classes will be having a bake sale to help support the PTA.  All items will cost $1.

Spelling Words and New Math Game

This morning, the children took their second spelling test on the -an family.  They will be bringing them home today.  This week we will be learning words in the -et family.  The test will be first thing Friday morning.

I added a new math game to the math binders.  It is called one more, one less.  Your child is to roll 1 dice.  Write how many they rolled in the middle.  Then write the number that comes before and the number that comes after.  If you have any questions, please let me know.
