Good afternoon Haigh families! I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weekend. It is hard to believe that we only have 4 1/2 days of school left this school year. I am so thankful for the great group of kids I had this year. They all worked hard, made me smile, and taught me things along the way. Thank YOU parents for all of your support and encouragement this year!
We are all finished with our MADE IN MICHIGAN product research reports. Students did a great job learning about their Michigan made company. Their poster boards looked great and they shined during their presentation. Thank you for your help in making sure they followed the directions AND for the yummy snacks and samples you sent in 🙂
Tomorrow we will finish up our letters about the use of plastic bags to Mr. Abdullah Hammoud. Students will learn how to address the envelopes and fold the letter properly. I am going to have the students put their return address in case he writes back to them over the summer!
Also this week we will be cleaning out our book boxes, desks, and lockers and sending home things each day.
This week I plan to have some FUN with the kiddos! I promised them a kickball game and the whole 3rd grade will participate in some fun, team building games in the afternoon one day. The last week of school is exciting and bittersweet! We will also be writing a letter to next years class and perform in a readers theater with a small group.
A few things for the week:
- Tomorrow is our field day so cross your fingers, eyes, and toes that the weather stays DRY! Please make sure students dress appropriately for the weather.
- Tomorrow we also have a school wide picnic. Students are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch and small blanket or towel to “picnic” with friends.
- PLEASE help your child look around the house for any books they may have borrowed from my library this year. Also, if you have any gently used chapter books that you would like to donate to my library, I will gladly take them off your hands. THANK YOU!
- Friday’s dismissal is at 11:45
Enjoy the rest of your SUNDAY…I think I see the sun beginning to poke out 🙂
