Happy snowy Sunday Haigh families! I hope you are enjoying the weekend. I plan to cheer on the Patriots this evening 😉

Last week we completed all of our winter NWEA testing. Reports will be coming home soon.

Reminders for the week:

Monday- Math test, please review study guide and workbook pages

****We will have a HOMEWORK PACKET this week******

Wednesday- Late start

Thursday- Family Valentines dance 6:30-8:00

Friday- Popcorn day, sales will be going on all week

This week we will continue to learn about point of view in reading. In writing we just completed our snow papers and will begin to work on another informational writing about the growth of Michigan.

In social studies we will continue to learn about the major industries that were responsible for growing Michigan during the 1900’s.

Tomorrow we will take our test on area. We will begin our new unit on geometry on Tuesday. This unit is heavy with vocabulary terms. We will be learning A LOT of new vocabulary words having to due with lines and angels. We will be doing many FUN activities to help us retain these words over the next few weeks. In addition, students will have a homework packet for the next few weeks until we switch to our next unit of fractions.

Academic Words:

  1. Agriculture- another word for farming.
  2. Equator- The imaginary line that divides the Earth into two hemispheres.
  3. Ray- A line with a start point but no end point.
  4. Line segment- A part of a line that has two endpoints.
  5. Line-Extends in both directions with NO endpoints.

Cheers to a great Sunday sporting event! Be safe everyone if you are planning to be out……and it wouldn’t hurt to wear your pajamas inside out as well 🙂 #snowday?
