Good afternoon Haigh families. I hope everyone had an enjoyable long weekend with their family.
Reminders for the week:
Thursday: Haigh family BBQ
Lunch: We will be switching lunch with the 5th graders to accommodate testing. 3rd grade will eat lunch at 11:25 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Reading Log: Please make sure students are recording their daily reading minutes on their reading log. I sent a fresh one home with students today.
NWEA testing will begin next week. Please make sure students are engaging in extra practice at home. Students can visit Mobymax or Myon through the Clever link on the Dearborn web page. Students can also practice on Frontrowed.com and prepdog.com
This week we will continue to review reading strategies as we work through our M-Step prep folder. We will work on completing brief writes for informational writing.
In math we will continue to strengthen our number sense with fractions as we look at how to compare fractions. Students will be working with fraction sticks, playing games, and working on the computer to strengthen these skills. Please note that homework for the next few weeks will be a spiral review of material that we have learned this year as another opportunity to review for upcoming testing.
