Good afternoon Haigh families 🙂
Just a reminder that we will be having our spelling and vocabulary test on Wednesday(words from last week).
This week we will be learning about point of view. Students will learn how to determine the point of view and practice using a variety of texts. In writing students will continue to collect facts about snow and sort them. From there they will learn how to construct a paragraph including the facts they have found.
In math we will review place value. Students will review all concepts from this unit and take their test on Thursday. I will send home their pretests to study from on Wednesday. Please continue to have your child practice their math facts. They are on a roll and making great progress in our math challenge. A big CONGRATULATIONS to Jena and Jordan for completing the challenge:)
We will also be having our social studies test on Thursday. Look for a study guide to come home on Tuesday 🙂
In science we will investigate balanced and unbalanced forces, as well as investigate gravity.
You should of received a pink letter regrading Valentines day. If not, here is the information:
Next week is Valentine’s Day!  We have 24 students in our class and their first names are included on the back of this sheet.  We will NOT be having a traditional class party like we did for Halloween or Christmas. We WILL have a short celebration at the end of the day and engage in Valentine friendship activities during regular classroom instruction.
Here are the fast facts:
- The celebration will be from 2:30-3:30.
- Each child is encouraged (but not required) to bring valentines.  If you bring valentines, you must bring one for each student in the class—no one is left out!
- Everyone will need to bring a plain brown paper grocery bag (like what you get from Kroger). Â If you want to bring in an extra bag, just in case someone forgets, that would be great!
- We will be having pizza around 11:15 provided by Mr. Cheese Pizza. Students will go to regular lunch time at 12:45, so they may just need to pack a snack instead of a whole lunch.
