I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend.
This week we will begin our NWEA testing. We will begin with reading tomorrow and math on Thursday. Please make sure your child eats a healthy breakfast and give them some words of encouragement. I am sure they will all improve and show growth from the beginning of the year. Last week we took the time to review our fall scores and set new goals for our winter testing.
This week we also have our district writing prompt to complete. Students will be writing an opinion piece. I am confident that they will do a great job since we just finished up with this genre and their papers look great!
We will continue to work on main idea in reading. I will also be giving a reading DRA / progress monitoring assessment to students this week to monitor their reading level.
To say that this short week is a “busy” week is an understatement! We will be busy and working hard to show our progress toward our 2016 goals.
