Good Afternoon Haigh Families!
Thank you to everyone who came to our Halloween party on Friday! It sure was a fun an exciting day at Haigh. It looks like tomorrow is going to be perfect weather for trick or treating and for our October PBIS fall festival event. Please remember to send your child with a coat and gym shoes, since this will take place outside.
This week we have a half day on Friday with dismissal at 11:45.
We will continue to work on our compare and contrast informational writing. We will also continue to learn about non fiction text features and how they help us understand nonfiction texts.
In math we will work on addition strategies as well as more word problems.
In science we will work on creating a brochure to save or stop invasive species in Michigan. We will work on this through our Google Classroom page.
Academic Vocabulary Words:
- Heading-A title at the top of the page or section in a book.
- Number model-A number sentence with at least two numbers and an operation ( +,-, x, ) 4+5=9 is a number model.
- Solve-To find the answer.
- Compare-To look at something closely to see how it is similar and different.
- Facts-A piece of information that is true.
