Welcome to 2nd semester!

This semester is an exciting look at persuasive writing! It will be structured differently than last semester. We are focusing on PSAT prep as well as essay writing.

40% of your grade will be one 4-5 page essay. You will have multiple chances to submit and improve before the final due date in late March. Every student is expected to earn an A!

The rest of the coursework will be practicing skills for the PSAT, and of course, the final exam in June.

Parents: Keep an eye out for the essay assignment sometime next week.

This week and after break

Hello!
Today we read another article related to germs. You were asked to complete a CER chart for it. Tomorrow, you will be writing your own article in response to the question, “Is our knowledge of germs starting to do more harm than good?”
You will need a CLAIM
4 pieces of EVIDENCE
and sound REASONS to relate your evidence to your claim.
It will be 2 pages in length, written

Next week, a random peer will be creating a CER sheet for your paper, so make it legible!
