From Mr. Higgins

Happy Monday William Ford Families!

The Learning Continues!

Dearborn Schools announced the State of Michigan approved Continuity of Learning plan for the rest of the school year. This plan is posted on the district website. The learning plan defines expectations for learning to continue for each school, teachers, students and parents. Together we will continue learning!  Dr. Maleyko posted a very good video explaining the Continuity of Learning plan. The video is about 16 minutes and includes a great summary by Executive Director, Fatme Faraj.  You can view this video at this link: https://youtu.be/BBF9D4DigPE

On the Dearborn Schools District website there are links to all written documents about the Continuity of Learning plan. You may reach this page at the following link: https://dearbornschools.org/services/dearborn-public-schools-continuity-of-learning-plan/.  Finally, on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week, I will post a video summarizing the learning plan and expectations for all. We want the best for all students to ensure they are ready for the next grade level when we return to school in the fall!

Yesterday was a nice sunny day. Did you enjoy it? I did. I love to see the sunshine.
Today is Monday and we are back to work. Your assignments have posted. You will have until 9:00 p.m. tomorrow to complete them. Work carefully. You are expected to turn in your best 4th grade work. I will meet with the orange and green groups today. If you are in one of these groups, you have been notified through ClassDojo. Enjoy your day and your work.
Also, be sure to check out the William Ford blog. Mr. Higgins has posted very important information there.

Good morning, 4th Graders. It’s Friday! Snow is on the way.
The only new assignment today is Math. But you must also do the following:
I graded Monday’s writing assignment.
I put comments on most of your papers and returned them to you.
You MUST go back and read the comments and then fix up your writing if you want a better grade.
Finish up any other assignments from the week.
I will meet with the Yellow and Blue groups today.
If you are in one of these groups, you received an assignment in Classwork under your group name.
Read the directions and do what they say.
I will meet with the other groups next week.
Have a good weekend. I miss you and love you.

Good morning, 4th Graders,
How about that snow yesterday? Were you surprised? It looked pretty from my office window as I sat planning, meeting, learning, planning . . . You get the picture. I’m working a lot to learn the best ways to keep us learning and succeeding. Reading groups will be starting soon. Ms. Berry and I will be meeting with the Purple Group later today and hope to meet with the other groups tomorrow and Monday.
For today, I have posted an additional math assignment. We need to catch up with the other 4th grade classes. The assignment is due by 9:00 this evening as well as yesterday’s assignments. Good luck.

Hello Boys and Girls,

It was a wonderful Spring Break! We had a lot of sunny days. I hope you got outside a little bit to walk or play. I went for many walks and got a lot of chores around my house done.

I’m looking forward to working with you on your assignments this week. The assignments will post in the morning. Please, follow directions, and DO NOT go ahead in the lessons. You will do Monday’s lessons first. Thank you.

Good morning, Boys and Girls,
Did you get outside yesterday? I did. I went for a walk. The sky was a magnificent shade of blue. It was a perfect day. Sunshine always makes my day better. How about you?
After completing today’s lessons, you are officially on Spring Break. I want you to relax and enjoy your families. We will take a break from school work until after Spring Break. But before we do that, let’s get together for a Hangout at 2:30. I’ll send the information to join the meeting about 2:15 p.m.

In the meantime, check out the video made by your William Ford Family: https://youtu.be/UxiJwrXBKFM
