Thursday:  First day students are required to be dressed in proper gym clothes and                         participate.

Friday: Today and every day the rest of the semester students need to be dressed                      in gym clothes and to participate in all class activities.

2^nd Hour PE 9 / Health: Will have a 3 week swimming unit that the students will need a                 bathing suit.

• Students who have not received their schedules should report to the attendance office.

• Co-op/Work Experience students must meet with Mrs. Harakas in Media Center during the assigned Co-op hours 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th.

• Berry Center / DCMST classes will begin tomorrow.  Students attending other locations must report to and remain in the cafeteria.

• 4th hour teachers inform students of their assigned lunch period.

Schedule changes

Schedule changes will be made for students who are academically misplaced or missing a class in their schedule.  These students must see his/her counselor during that specific hour only.

Final Exam Cell Phone Policy

Parents,

We recognize that cell/smart phones are a regular part of yours and your child’s lives. In order to maintain the security of our testing sessions, as well as to reduce distractions for others, we are asking you to discourage your child from bringing their phones with them to school during our final exams this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Should your student absolutely need to bring their phone, please encourage them to have it turned off and stored in their lockers. If their phone comes into the classroom, students will be directed to turn them off and turn them in during the testing session, a similar practice occurs during our upcoming SAT exam. At the end of the testing session, students that turn in their phones to the teachers will receive them back.

Any student who has a phone out during an active testing session may receive disciplinary action in accordance with our student code of conduct, possibly resulting in an out of school suspension, as well as possible invalidation of that exam.

We recognize this may be an inconvenience, but feel confident that this will better support a more secure and focused testing atmosphere.

As a reminder, Dearborn High School is NOT responsible for lost or stolen cell phones or electronic devices.

Stating Monday November 13th to Dec 1st 9th grade students will need to bring paper and a pencil to class each day. We will continue to work on phyiscal fitness so gym clothes will also be required.

Monday will be the best time to see me at conferences. I will be late (after 6:30) on Wednesday due to Coaching at a Cross Country Meet.

Make-Up / Extra credit is available every Wednesday in October. Report to the track before 2:30 sign up and then run a mile for 10 points.

Make-Up / Extra Credit opportunity: Wednesday Sept 27 at 2:30. Students can earn 10 points extra credit by coming to the track before 2:30. sign in and run 4 laps for 10 points extra credit / make-up.

Open House

All of Mr. Mahar’s 9th grade classes begin swimming of February 27th. All students will need a bathing suit and towel everyday Feb 27th to March 17th.
