Continuing with chemical reaction types from yesterday (ayer in Spanish) I have a couple of Double Replacement Reactions for you. I’d like you to predict the products of
A. Potassium Cyanide (KCN) being added to Hydrogen Bromide (HBr) –>
B. Aluminum Nitrate ( Al(NO3)3) added to sulfuric acid (H2SO4) –>
Note: The cyanide polyatomic ion CN– has a single negative charge.
Note 2: The nitrate ion NO3– also has a single negative charge.
Note 3: The sulfate ion SO42- has a 2- charge. What is the charge for Aluminum from Group 13?
Please write both chemical equations with neutral compounds and then balance the equation with coefficients. Take a picture or two of your final answers and attach it (them) to your Remind post. Remember: there can be no charges in the final compounds (they cancel out) and no superscripts. The first one is easy, the second is challenging. Good luck.
