Good morning and welcome to chemistry. We know this situation with the corona virus is serious, dangerous and unpredictable. Please be patient with me, the administration and with each other as we try to make the best of a difficult situation.
Your first assignment is quite short, a one-question “quiz” just to see if we are in contact with each other. If you do not turn in the assignment by 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday (tomorrow), I will turn your name in to Mr. Martin. He has made this a requirement.
For 5 summative points: When oxygen and sodium combine in an ionic compound, what will be the formula and name of the compound?
Remember to make a neutral compound and to put the metal ion (the positive cation) first in the compound.
You can e-mail your answer to brownt@dearbornschools.org.
Also, you can join the “Remind” by texting @brownd5 to 81010.
Also, check out the iLearn for the notes and worksheets in progress. I will send the notes for chapters 8-10 in Remind when most folks have responded. I’m not sure if you’ll need access to the notes in Google Slides. Let me know.
Good luck, and stay safe and healthy.
