3-30-2020 (M) Assignment

Objective(s) 1) SW use dimensional analysis tp convert back and forth from … a) moles to grams b) moles to particles(atoms/molecules) c) moles to liters(volume)

  1. Print out “10-2 Review and Reinforcement” worksheet and complete it using the black textbook pdf file (section 10-2). If you don’t have a printer, you can copy the questions onto a blank sheet of paper. The worksheet is not that wordy, so copying the questions by hand might prove faster than printing them. Either way, its up to you.
    2) When finished insert it into your binder under Ch 10 tab right after the last assignment that you completed (10-2 section review questions)
    3) If you feel like you need some help, search up videos on how to solve for convert from moles to mass to particles. I will one video for each objective listed above as examples.

3-26-2020 (Th) Assignment

Mole Conversions

Objectives: SW Convert from 1) moles to mass, 2) moles to particles, or 3) mass to particles

1) Read section 10.2 called “Mole Conversions” in the black textbook. Use the following link if you don’t have a black book.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Zx20Y7mTQe45lZ0WgwvVvUjk2fuLUqUK
2) On a separate piece of paper, copy and answer the questions in “10-2 Section Review” on page 331 of the textbook (that’s page 21 in the pdf file).
3) Place your work in your binder immediately after 10-1 Practice Problems worksheet that you completed on Tuesday.

If you need help, search up videos on YouTube related to our objective, “Mole Conversions”. If you find a short, easy to understand video, please share by posting the link in the comment’s section. From those, I’ll select one to post later in the day.

Finally, don’t forget to sign up for remind, see yesterday’s posting for codes..

3-24-2020 (T) Honor’s Assignment

Objective: Solving for atomic and/or molar mass.

Print (or copy) both sides of “10-1 Practice Problems” worksheets attached below. Complete all the answers using a periodic table rounding the final answer to the hundreds place. Be sure to box in your final answer with units. I’ll attach another tutorial video to help you. Also feel free to search up and watch short You Tube videos related to the objective. You can also use the resources from last Friday’s assignment for support. It’s pretty much the same easy stuff. Remember to keep your work organized in your binder under Chapter 10.

Leave a comment answering the following question. What is the molar mass of ammonium sulfate. Include units and round to the hundredths place?

3-20-2020 (F) Assignment

  1. Print out “10-1 Review and Reinforcement” worksheet and complete it using the black textbook pdf file (section 10-1). If you don’t have a printer, you can copy the questions onto a blank sheet of paper. The worksheet is not that wordy, so copying the questions by hand might prove faster than printing them. Either way, its up to you.
  2. When finished insert it into your binder under Ch 10 tab right after the last assignment that you complete (10-1 section review questions)
  3. If you feel like you need some help, search up videos on how to solve for formula mass and molar mass of a compounds. This stuff is pretty easy, I may post some video links later in the day if you still need help.

3/17/20 (T) Honor’s Chemistry Assignment: Chapter 10:The Mole

Over the next 3 week break, we are going to transition into studying the concept of the mole and how its used to measure quantities of chemical substances. You should create a new divider in your binder titled “Chapter 10: The Mole”. For those of you who don’t have a text book, use the link below to access a pdf of “Chapter 10” in our black textbook.
